Alex and Kate’s wedding at Dartington Hall in Devon was an absolute pleasure to be a part off and I thank them both for choosing me as their wedding photographer! You may remember my one shot preview from this wedding last Autumn here.
Although I am based in Cornwall, Dartington Hall is a few hours drive for me so I travelled up the night before and stayed close by to Dartington so I was good, ready and raring to go first thing in the morning. I love to travel for weddings and it’s always nice to visit new venues and new places! It’s one of the many perks of being a wedding photographer! 🙂
On the wedding day itself everything happened at the venue from the getting ready, the ceremony, to the awesome party in the evening. Alex and Kate wanted a very relaxed informal style to their photography with ‘moments captured on the fly’, which for me, is exactly how I love to work.
Between the ceremony and the reception we did spend 15 mins or so walking around the beautiful grounds of Dartington to get a few relaxed portraits of the couple which was lovely. Alex and Kate wanted a few portraits in amongst all the beautiful Autumnal colours which were starting to appear at Dartington Hall. Although this is a small part of what I do at a wedding, the newlyweds really appreciated this little bit of space away from the party just to take it all in and have 5 mins alone (albeit with my hiding in a tree somewhere with my camera!). However with these photos I don’t shoot to close to the couple and I really like to step back and take in the surroundings within their photos whilst giving the couple space.
There are so many little moments that I loved documenting from this wedding, as always I will let the photos tell the story, here are a few of my favs.
