Here is their story……
Tell me a little bit about yourselves, for example, where did you meet?
Having both grown up in Cornwall we met (of course) in L2 in Truro during the summer of 2008! We started to see each other over the next couple of weeks but then had to go straight into a long distance relationship as we both headed back off to uni. Over the next 6 years we spent time living near to each other and having to do long distance – eventually in 2014 we were able to move in together!
Can you tell me about the proposal?
With Cornwall being so close to both our hearts Andrew decided to propose whilst we were spending time back at home for my birthday. We headed down to Gylly in the morning and enjoyed a cream tea on the beach. I turned to watch some people having a go at paddle boarding down at the other end of the beach, as I turned back he was on one knee holding the ring … definitely a perfect moment! He had the champagne ready, so we enjoyed a toast on the beach together before heading off to share the news!
Can you tell me about your venues and why you chose them?
Perran ar Worthal Church is a special place for Becky’s family, so we knew that’s where we wanted to tie the knot – it’s such a beautiful church. We desperately wanted to be able to see the water from our reception venue and knew that we’d ideally have a marquee if we could – Restronguet Barton couldn’t have been more perfect, such a spectacular view.
Were you going for a certain style or theme for your wedding?
Being in such a stunning Cornish location that perfectly combined our love of the countryside and the water we decided to continue that with the theme of the day. At the entrance of our marquee we kicked off the style of our decorations with wellies filled with flowers on one side and a surfboard with the table plan on it on the other – that theme then continued inside, it was definitely perfect for us!
What is your most memorable moment from the day?
For both of us it was the moment we saw each other in the church – everyone just seemed to disappear and we both just couldn’t stop smiling, just an incredible moment.
Why did you choose Stewart Girvan Photography?
Even before we were engaged we both knew that the day we got married we had to have Stewart as our photographer – we just absolutely love his photos! Our day couldn’t have been captured more perfectly.
How did you feel about having your photos taken and were pleased with your final images?
We were so happy with the final images – we can’t stop looking at them! We felt so relaxed having our photos taken – Stewart seemed to disappear amongst the guests, capturing such natural, lovely images.
Can you tell me about any other suppliers that contributed and played an important part to your wedding? For example, florist, makeup artist, transport, entertainment
We would highly recommend our stunning venue Restronguet Barton and Absolute Canvas who supplied our beautiful marquee. My hairdresser Holly Mitchell from No. 4 Hair & Beauty was incredible and helped so much whilst we were getting ready. Our make-up was done by Tamsyn Siddiqui, my dress was from Amanda K Bridal and our bouquets and button holes were supplied by Rafflesia Flowers which were just stunning. Our caterers Cornwall Chef provided such delicious food – all in all everyone was fab!
Do you have any advice for future couples planning their wedding?
Try to get everything organised with plenty of time so you can just enjoy the run up to your big day without too much stress! On the day just go with the flow and make the most of every moment.
