As a wedding photographer in Cornwall I get the chance to do wedding photography in some pretty amazing places (and for some of the nicest people!) so I’m really excited to bring you my handpicked Best Cornwall Wedding Venues. If you’re planning to get married anywhere in this beautiful county and you’re looking for some reliable inside information on what’s available, then sit back with a glass of something sparkly and enjoy this run down of options. Any one of these comes highly recommended, so you can’t really go wrong with any of them, whether you’re thinking about your guests, the facilities, the hospitality, or the scenery for the photographs.

01. NANCARROW FARM

First up, how about Nancarrow Farm, near Truro. It’s a beautifully maintained working farm that’s been in the family for a couple of hundred years. Some gorgeous natural features are hidden away in Nancarrow Farm, and they all make superb locations for wedding photos. Beautifully scented wild flowers, a fruit orchard, a millpond, climbing roses and a walled cottage garden all add to the scenery., and you have the chance to hold your wedding ceremony indoors or outdoors, or at a nearby church if you prefer. Anywhere between 75 and 150 guests, is perfect for this venue. A delicious organic menu is served for the wedding breakfasts, with many ingredients sourced on site. There’s great quality accommodation available for 18 guests ensuite, and in addition they can provide beds for several more couples in furnished tents on site. That’s a real treat if you’re looking to organise a getaway for your closest friends over the wedding weekend! Nancarrow farm is right up there in my best wedding venues in Cornwall

02. LUSTY GLAZE

How about a beach wedding? In Cornwall, that means just one location: Lusty Glaze, where having the ceremony on the sand is a big attraction because it’s the only place in Cornwall where you can get married on the beach. Lusty Glaze has their own private cove, which provides guests with welcome shelter from the elements, and seclusion from the crowds, but since you’re surrounded with the natural beauty of Newquay, with the surf and sand, and those dramatic rocks and skies, you really don’t have to save this one for the summer. Weddings all year round have a beautiful backdrop at Lusty Glaze. There’s a great menu at their restaurant, and accommodation is available on site, or in the nearby town, which is perfect for you or any guests who need a place to stay. Lusty Glaze is ideal for couples who love the beach culture, and who want a relaxed and informal feel to their special day.

03. KILMINORTH COTTAGES

Next, how about Kilminorth Cottages, where breathtaking Cornish countryside is all around, and everything else about this place you can tailor to your heart’s content! They have 32 acres of space, which is enough room to have your wedding indoors or outdoors, and still not feel cramped. The nearby woods could provide some atmosphere, and easy access to the beach give creative couples the chance to use their imagination in just about every aspect of wedding planning. This venue is in Looe, so of course, there are plenty of photogenic places for some decent wedding photography. And it’s completely private, which means you won’t be overlooked or gate-crashed by ramblers! Whether you want a hog roast or fine dining, fireworks or a massive treasure hunt, Kilminorth Cottages can grant your wishes. They even have on site accommodation for guests who have come from further away. It’s a very worthy contender in my top Cornish wedding venues.

04. RESTRONGUET BARTON

Here’s an option for those looking for a memorable marquee wedding, with unforgettable sunset potential, and the chance of a few fireworks at the end of the day. Restronguet Barton is a place for creative and imaginative receptions, especially for those who love the outdoors and the views over the Fal Estuary. Unique to this venue are the spectacular views, which form the perfect backdrop to your wedding ceremony or reception. Guests are all nicely protected from the wind by the mature oak trees and surrounding hedges, so it’s a really sheltered location. The idea is that you hire the marquee (they recommend Absolute Canvas as the usual suppliers) and pitch it on one of the two available sites. Either site is large enough for the biggest available marquee, with plenty of room parking. In one of the sites electricity comes in the tariff, and with the other you need only hire a generator along with the marquee. And as you’ll see from the pictures, it’s completely stunning and is rightly featured in my best wedding venues in Cornwall post!

05. ST IVES HARBOUR HOTEL

Looking for a sea view for your wedding ceremony and/or reception? At St Ives Harbour Hotel, you’ll have the benefit of 180 degrees view of the bay, and that sea view is available both indoors and out. Two function rooms here, both with windows onto the water, means that for the whole event you and your guests can feel immersed in the beauty of the award-winning Portminster Beach – Trip Advisor’s choice. At this venue they have professional wedding coordinators available to walk you through the planning and the day itself, and you’ll have a red-carpet welcome in when you arrive. Many couples enjoy the chance to have their wedding photos taken on the sand, but they also have beautifully kept lawns with a backdrop of the bay. If space is important to you, this hotel is the third largest Cornish wedding venue, and it’s been renovated in recent years, so the public areas and the accommodation feel like new.
