Five reasons why I love shooting Burncoose House Wedding Photography

As a busy Cornwall wedding photographer, I get to work at some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the country. Burncoose House is one such venue.  I’ve been there so many times but I still get a tingle of excitement when I approach the rhododendron lined driveway and catch my first glimpse of this beautiful Georgian country house that sits in 30 acres of woodland and gardens. There are so many reasons why I always love returning to shoot wedding photography at Burncoose House that I am going to struggle to limit myself to just five.  But here goes.

  1. I love shooting Burncoose House wedding photography because…

the idyllic setting is perfect for romantic portrait images of my brides and grooms in the woodlands and gardens.  So perfect in fact that Burcoose House is a popular location for films and photoshoots for the wedding industry.   Georgian architecture is so photogenic.  The light-coloured stonework, the large windows that are flooded with natural light.  The beautiful interiors with period features that give the house an effortless elegance and understated grandeur.  So perfect for a wedding.

  1. I love shooting Burncoose House wedding photography because…

it is a fantastic wedding venue for all seasons. In spring the gardens are in bloom with magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias that make a beautiful backdrop in my images.  In summer months these are followed by hydrangeas and the weather is usually fine enough for outdoor ceremonies and drink receptions on the terrace overlooking the lawns and garden.Autumn weddings bring their own colour and give me fantastic light to play with to create beautiful images. In winter Burncoose House’s cosy interiors and open fires create a snug feel.  At winter weddings I always love taking images by the frozen lake.  Winter skies can often be dramatic and make an excellent backdrop in moody and atmospheric portrait shots.

  1. I love shooting Burncoose House wedding photography because…

they offer exclusive use of the house, grounds and the gardens. So once there you and your wedding party can just close yourselves off from the rest of the world and enjoy your day.  So much more personal than having your wedding at function room number two at a chain branded hotel.  Exclusive use also means that your guests can really relax and unwind.  And if they choose extend their stay so that they can use the house as a base to explore this beautiful area of Cornwall.

  1. I love shooting Burncoose House wedding photography because…

they offer gorgeous accommodation.I always love doing bridal prep shots at Burncoose House.  The beautiful and tastefully decorated rooms, with their enormous Georgian windows are flooded with natural light (us Cornwall wedding photographers just love natural light) so are perfect for bridal prep images. You can go all out and hire the entire house for a self-catered stay for up to 14 guests. The main house has 7 spacious en-suite guest bedrooms suitable for everything from families with small children to single occupancy. There is a fully equipped large kitchen and dining room and several bright and airy reception rooms.  In the sheltered courtyard there’s a hot tub and if you’re feeling playful there’s a billiards table, a table tennis table and croquet on the lawn.

For a romantic bolthole the newlyweds can stay at The Stable Courtyard, a beautifully renovated property that sleeps 2, it has lots of charm and character and makes a romantic bolthole for the newlyweds.

  1. I love shooting Burncoose House wedding photography because…

they are a perfect wedding venue for weddings large or small.  Smaller weddings can take place exclusively in the house with the ceremony being held on of their large, bright and characterful rooms, the wedding breakfast in the dining room and an evening party in the lovingly restored conservatory.  Larger weddings can be accommodated by having an outdoor ceremony and a luxury marquee wedding reception on the lawn.
