Here is their story....
Tell me a little bit about yourselves, for example, where did you meet?
Believe it or not we met on a night out in Newquay despite living 5 hours away in Hertfordshire & going to the same secondary school but had never crossed paths until that night!
Can you tell me about the proposal?
Dean took me away to a beautiful hotel, I was completely surprised as he never organises anything but I still didn’t suspect a thing! 6 years after meeting, 1 mortgage and 1 child later we were finally engaged!!!
Can you tell me about your venues and why you chose them?
We chose The Alverton Hotel in Truro as we just completely fell in love the moment we walked in. We loved that the great hall has the feel of a church without actually being a church & after the story of how we met we were never going to get married anywhere other than Cornwall, we go back every year & just love everything about it!
Were you going for a certain style or theme for your wedding?
I really wanted a simplistic, romantic feel. Twinkly lights, plenty of candles & minimal flowers & that’s exactly what we got.
What is the most memorable moment from the day?
To be honest I’m sure like most brides this is a really tough question as the day ran perfectly from start to finish. However my most memorable moment is probably standing in the archway of the great hall with my dad, knowing I was about to enter the most beautiful room filled with our closest family & friends (most of whom had travelled miles to be there) to marry the absolute love of my life, soppy I know but I had waited 12 years for that moment!!! Entering that room & seeing all those faces especially my husband to be is most certainly something I will never forget.
Why did you choose Stewart Girvan Photography?
Being from Hertfordshire we relied heavily on recommendations either from family who live in Cornwall or The Alverton. Stewart actually came up on The Alvertons list of recommended suppliers, once looking through all of the recommendations we knew Stewart was the guy for us. His photos were just beautiful, they appeared effortless & easy & that’s exactly what we were after. Once booked in everything ran so smoothly & to meet Stewart was lovely, my husband was dreading being off having photos done all day long & he definitely put his mind at ease that that would not happen!
How did you feel about having your photos taken and were pleased with your final images?
On the day of our wedding Stewart turned up, said his hello’s to both of us between our separate rooms & then to be honest from after that point we didn’t even realise he was there (meant in the best possibly way of course!). This for us was exactly what we wanted, we were after natural photos, capturing the moment rather than forcing it & that is exactly what Stewart gave us. We are blown away by the results, the photos are stunning. We will truly treasure them forever more, we will never get those exact moments again & we will be forever grateful to Stewart for capturing what he did.
Can you tell me about any other suppliers that contributed and played an important part to your wedding? For example, florist, makeup artist, transport, entertainment
We can not praise our band enough, The Swing Kings were incredible & done exactly what we wanted of them to get our evening reception underway!! Suzi Humphries made our most beautiful wedding cake which everyone commented was delicious. And for the minimal flowers that we did have Ginny’s Flowers done an amazing job!!
Do you have any advice for future couples planning their wedding?
Our advice for other couples planning their wedding would really be to try & enjoy the planning process. It can get stressful, there may be things that you both can’t agree on but focus on the end result, remember the reason you are getting married & you’ll get to that most amazing day that you have both dreamed of.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Keely & Dean for having me as their photographer at the Alverton Hotel wedding. It was a pleasure to be part of your day guys and congratulations once again!
