Kilminorth Cottages, a unique & private location for your wedding!
Some wedding venues can feel a bit cramped and restricted. But how does 32 acres sound? Kilminorth Cottages is an extensive wedding venue, in Looe – a truly private location in breath-taking countryside that includes landscaped gardens, a fruit orchard, and spacious surroundings that even include a dedicated altar! This is the place for couples who want to create their own unique day in their own way – beyond any pre-packaged event. It’s also a lovely backdrop for atmospheric wedding photography – I can vouch for that.
Kilminorth Cottages – the obvious choice for the imaginative wedding planner
If you have strong ideas for your wedding celebrations, then don’t worry about restrictions at this place. You’re pretty much as free as you like to invent the wedding ceremony of your dreams and design the reception to be exactly as you’ve always wanted it to be. Because there’s so much space under cover and out in the open, this really is a year-round wedding venue, with room for contingency plans indoors if there’s an unexpected shower, as well as the chance to make the most of an unseasonably warm and clear evening. The wedding coordinators who opt for this Cornwall venue have plenty of options for creating a uniquely memorable occasion.
So many reasons to choose Kilminorth Cottages as your perfect wedding venue.
The estate on which Kilminorth Cottages is set is privately owned, which means you’re not going to find members of the public strolling uninvited into your wedding celebrations. You’ll have so much room, you can really go to town with your wedding plans. Inside and outside, and whatever the weather, you’ll have tons of space to make the day your own. There are three indoor options at Kilminorth Cottages. Two of them seat up to 30, and the other one is slightly larger, with space for a sitting of 40 guests. The accompanying courtyards are perfect for outdoor mingling, and they’re covered by a marquee for all-weather protection. Whether you have 100, 150 or even 200 guests, Kilminorth Cottages gives you the space you need.
Fun and formal, classy and casual – all kinds of weddings take place at Kilminorth Cottages
What kinds of themes and ideas would work well at Kilminorth Cottages? Well, there’s the straightforward DJ or band setup. A Cornish tipi? That’s easy enough. There’s a pool if you fancy a swim! How about a bonfire? Fireworks? A Cornish cider fest? And of course, you can hang romantic strings of lights from the surrounding trees to create a truly magical and intimate scene for you and your guests to keep dancing well into the evening. As for the food, that’s a particular speciality at Kilminorth Cottages. They produce all their own, and they’ll tailor it to your preferences – whether you prefer the informality of a hog roast, or a more formal sit-down wedding breakfast complete with all the trimmings.
Wedding photography at Kilminorth Cottages is always a pleasure!
I’ve photographed several weddings at this venue now, and what I find couples tend to love about it is the space and flexibility, as well as its relaxed atmosphere. And there are so many different areas to explore. What I love is the opportunity to make use of the spaciousness to get imaginative with my shoots and make the most of the natural materials of stone and wood and countryside. It’s so relaxed here, I find it’s easy to capture those moments among the guests that could easily get lost. It’s a place I can really find the heart and soul of the occasion as I wander around while the guests enjoy themselves with no pressure. It’s the chance to visit awesome venues like Kilminorth Cottages that’s one of the big perks local wedding photographers like me just love about working in Cornwall.
Andrew and Robyn had their wedding ceremony at Kilminorth Cottages, and they used bales of hay for the guests to sit on. Robyn had grown up nearby, so I took some really lovely shots on the beach at Plaidy beach with the two of them. Emma and Lee chose to have the whole wedding and reception outdoors, and they picked Kilminorth Cottages because it had accommodation for guests who had travelled some distance to get to Cornwall, to stay on site too.
