As a Nancarrow farm wedding photographer, I know that choosing just the right wedding venue is key when you’re planning your perfect day. Whenever I’ve been booked for a wedding at Nancarrow Farm, I’ve been super impressed! So, if you’re looking for a really awesome wedding barn venue in Cornwall for a Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter wedding it really doesn’t get much better than Nancarrow Farm, trust me.
A BEAUTIFUL RUSTIC VENUE NEAR TRURO
Nancarrow Farm isn’t just any wedding venue. It’s a long-established organic working farm with an impressive history. For a quarter of a century the Mewton family have spent their lives rearing traditional and rare breeds of cattle, sheep and pork. Choosing this venue for your wedding means you can expect that good old Cornish spirit of hospitality that carries through from the field and garden to the plate, with wild and organic ingredients that make their way into their incredible menus. The team at Nancarrow Farm really have gone out of their way to ensure that every aspect of your wedding there is memorably high quality.
ANCIENT AND MODERN, NANCARROW’S UNIQUE WORKING FARM ATMOSPHERE
The natural scenery of Cornwall is beautiful, and that’s the stunning backdrop that comes as standard for Nancarrow wedding guests. The rustic charm that so many couples are looking for is homegrown here. No need to recreate a realistic country feel because this venue has developed its own Cornish personality here organically over many generations, and in all weathers.
This truly is a venue that works well throughout the year, rain or shine. Sunny flower-scented courtyards are enhanced by rambling roses that climb the walls of the barns. There’s plenty of room on the grass for your guests to mingle and rest. You’ll find orchards, a walled cottage garden, and a millpond if you need somewhere more sheltered. Whatever the weather, the kitchen is wood-fired, and the beautiful Oak Barn, with a traditional wood-burner, can be gently lit to create a fairy-tale atmosphere that’s evocative and stylish.
The recently refurbished rusty barn is a perfect indoor location for your marriage vows, but if you prefer the outdoors, the courtyard is a classy alternative. Nearby church weddings often return to Nancarrow for the reception, and they can also provide en-suite accommodation for up to 18 guests, as well as a further 4 couples in their beautifully furnished tents.
Your whole wedding day experience at Nancarrow will be in the capable hands of two of the nicest wedding coordinators you will ever meet, Heather and Eavan!

When you’re making your plans for the day itself you’ll also want to consider your wedding photographer carefully, so you can decide how best to capture the atmosphere of the occasion to enjoy again and again in years to come. Local wedding photographers just love returning to this spot in Cornwall, because the tones, textures and scenery offer such amazing backdrops. Personally, I would say that there are few if any more photogenic wedding venues in the Truro area than Nancarrow, with its stunning grounds and beautiful location. It’s certainly a big favourite of mine!
And don’t just take my word for it. James and Jo opted for this venue after looking at a few different options. For them, it was Nancarrow Farm that had the perfect mix of relaxed and beautiful. They chose to have their ceremony outside the barn on a sunny day. Laura-Anne and Rich chose to travel to Cornwall for their wedding even though they don’t come from the area. Nancarrow Farm gave them the chance to get their friends together for a whole long weekend stay on site.
As for Lucy and Todd, this wedding was about the dancing and celebration! It was an indoor ceremony, but drinks were served outside to make the most of the stunning location. I may be biased because they’re friends of mine, but Chaz and Cat’s wedding at Nancarrow Farm was also particularly memorable, and the incredible menu really was a high point of the entire day.
