At every wedding there is the ‘formal part’ of the ceremony where the bride and groom sign the register and officially become husband and wife. Over the years it’s become a formality to pose the couple for a photo with a blank page and everyone looking at the camera. For me, as a documentary wedding photographer, I prefer to capture the real signing, the real moment, the real reaction and emotion that takes place as it happens, not the ‘mock signing’.
I stand back and quietly record a few shots whilst this takes place. I love this shot of Louise and Dan taken at their beautiful wedding at St Agnes Church.
Simple. Honest. Real.
