One of the best things about shooting Cornwall wedding photography is that I frequently get to be a Trevenna Barns wedding photographer. This secluded cluster of elegant barns sit in 142 acres of beautiful Cornish countryside. They offer a complete barn wedding venue including in-house catering and stylish accommodation with beautiful views of rural Cornwall.
Set within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Trevenna sits on the edge of Bodmin Moor and is centrally located in Cornwall (should your guests want to extend their stay and explore Cornwall) Awarded a Gold Eco Award for their commitment to sustainable communities their stunning grounds offer brides and grooms a choice of wedding ceremony spaces both indoors and out.
Threshing Barn seats 120 for ceremonies and wedding meals. It has exposed stone and wood mixed with contemporary glass and natural tones on the walls. Ceiling to floor windows flood the barn with tons of natural light. Wedding ceremonies can sometimes be held in dark spaces like churches and castles. One of the things I love about being a Trevenna Barns wedding photographer is that I am given an abundance of natural light that I can play with to create beautiful images. (us Cornwall wedding photographers are total geeks when it comes to talking about natural light).
Threshing Barn also has a log burning fire along with underfloor heating ensuring that it makes a perfect space for a wedding ceremony regardless of the time of year or the weather.
For your wedding party you can dress the barn in twinkly lights, mood lighting and drapes to create a magical fairy tale feel after dark.
If you want to say ‘I do’ in the great outdoors then Trevenna Barns offer their pretty Arbour for wedding ceremonies. Constructed from solid oak and natural slate and built using traditional carpentry skills you can dress the arbour with flowers, bunting and drapes. Or you can leave it pared back and natural. Either way it makes a beautiful setting for a romantic wedding ceremony. And the perfect backdrop for us Trevenna Barns wedding photographers when capturing our brides and grooms.
You even get a say on seating. Your guests can be seated on chairs or haybales, in rows or a horseshoe.
Can’t decide between an outdoor or an indoor ceremony? Then why not have an indoor ceremony that feels outdoors. The Garden Venue room has double height windows that make the most of the far-reaching views bringing all the beauty of the outside back in. When I’m a Trevenna wedding photographer I like the fact that the Garden Venue leads straight into the Threshing Barn’s bar so if the weather is poor guests can still move seamlessly around the barns without getting rained on.
If you’re looking for a more traditional wedding ceremony then pretty St Neot’s church is just a mile from Trevenna Barns.
Trevenna Barn’s in-house catering team work closely with brides and grooms to create bespoke food and drink menus using locally sourced ingredients and suppliers. One of the many things I love about being a Trevenna Barns wedding photographer are seeing their ‘celebration feasts’. The term ‘wedding breakfast’ feels dated at modern weddings so to see the more informal yet delicious sharing feasts that make for a delicious, informal and sociable alternative.
I think that’s enough of me banging on about why I love being a Trevenna wedding photographer. It is amazing but don’t just take my word for it go and take a look for yourself. Visiting beautiful wedding barn venues in beautiful locations in Cornwall is about as good as wedding planning gets. So have fun with it. And when you’ve found that perfect Cornwall wedding venue, you’ll no doubt be looking for an experienced Cornwall wedding photographer. Feel free to get in touch. I’d love to hear about your wedding plans…
